Ticks & Tick Borne Disease (TBD)

In July 2024, we hosted an event with guest speakers, revisiting the subject of Ticks and the various risks associated with them, which impact not only livestock, but other animals and of course humans. The five speakers provided an overview of some of the problems and an insight into data and research surrounding the issue, as well as existing programmes of work and an update into the progress for a new vaccine for Louping ill from Moredun Research Institute.

Dartmoor Hill Farm Project are keen to further support the various strands of work mentioned and this links with our current Healthy Livestock Initiative as well as potential opportunities to help identify and co-ordinate feedback or evidence which can further positive solutions. We are grateful to our speakers for sharing their time, experience and expertise.

Meanwhile, each of the presentations are available below as a pdf file to download and view.
